Erik Carle’s Dream Snow Book & Pop-Up Advent Calendar

Dream Snow is a sweet Christmas-themed counting book by Erik Carle, author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar (and many others books) known so well by those who have had small children. This interactive, multisensory book is suitable for children ages 3-5.

“On a small farm there lived a farmer. He only had a few animals. He could count them on the fingers of one hand. So the farmer named his animals One, Two, Three, Four, and Five…” But there is no snow and Christmas is almost here! The farmer dreams of a blanket of falling snow covering each of his animals.

A plastic sheet printed with snow conceals each animal until you lift it to reveal which animal is on the page underneath. The story concludes with the farmer decorating and putting gifts under the tree for each animal. On the last page is a microchip button that plays a tinkling, chiming tune when pressed.

Eric Carle’s Dream Snow Pop-Up Advent Calendar is based on the book and it folds out to reveal a pop-up tree with little boxes around it. “Open a window each day to reveal a new decoration to add to the display. By the time December 25th arrives, you’ll have a very dreamy Christmas scene!” The calendar contains 25 items to decorate your tree. It is suitable for children 5-6 years/preschool & up.

  30. Our favorite is the very hungry caterpillar. My kids liked the book so much that they made me buy the game for them.

  45. We always loved Brown Bear. Haven’t read Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? but I know it would be great!

  48. My kids loved The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We have a nice collection of Eric Carle books.

  50. I have always liked Eric Carle’s work, but The Very Quiet Cricket was my favorite when it was a real book and had the cricket sound at the end. I am not a fan of changing real picture books into board books.
