Laughing Man Coffee was co-founded by Hugh Jackman and since its inception, it has always strived to Make Every Cup Count by donating a portion of sales from each purchase to the Laughing Man Foundation. The foundation supports coffee farming communities and programs, ensuring fair wages and clearing the way to sustainable health, growth and success for coffee farmers and their families.
There are currently two Laughing Man Cafes in New York, NY where visitors can get caffeinated with Laughing Man’s fair trade coffee and enjoy specialty treats from local bakeries.

We received a bag of Laughing Man Hugh’s Blend ground coffee for review. All opinions are 100% our own. Hugh’s Blend is made using coffee beans from South America. With contrasting, yet complementary notes of tart green apple and toasted graham cracker, this smoothly balanced blend represents the cheerful embodiment of our mission and a reminder that true fellowship knows no borders.
I really enjoyed reading Hugh Jackman’s note on the back of the bag describing how Laughing Man Coffee came to be created. Also worth noting, Hugh Jackman donates 100% of his profits directly to the Laughing Man Foundation.
Personally, I prefer buying whole bean coffee so that it retains its freshness longer, however the grind on this bag was very even and the coffee still felt fresh and slightly moist from the oils. Hugh’s Blend is slightly on the lighter side of a medium roast which means more caffeine!
The grind is absolutely perfect for traditional drip coffee makers but is too fine for my french press. I like my coffee strong, so I filled my filter a little over half-full to get a full flavor profile.
I definitely got a vivid flavor profile from this cuppa as the roast is on the lighter side. At first sip, I could clearly taste the tart green apple first but the finish was lovely; almost like a warm toasted marshmallow.
I think Hugh’s Blend would be the perfect gift for a caffeine lover, as I got the jitters after sampling a cup (or two) for this review! The holidays are right around the corner and gifting a bag of this fair trade coffee would not only make your recipient extremely happy but it would also help support a fantastic foundation dedicated to giving back to the coffee community!
