Covet Crate recently increased the subscription cost and built in the cost of shipping in the purchase price. Covet Crate also announced a huge change and is now switching to bi-monthly packages! May was the last month at the original pricing structure. July is the first bi-monthly box!

July’s box arrived in pretty darn good shape (for my mail, anyway) and boasted a larger box than the previous package in May. The “Independent” theme is quite fitting for July and I was excited to see which independent, women-owned companies would be featured this month!

The front cover features Marie Curie, the first woman ever to receive a Nobel Prize and the first person ever to receive two Nobel Prizes in their lifetime. Some of her most notable accomplishments include her theory of radioactivity (she coined the term) as well as the discovery of two chemical elements, polonium and radium. In 1995, her and her husband’s remains were interred in the Panthéon in Paris where she remains the only woman to be laid to rest there.

The first layout reveals a Table of Contents, a note from the Covet Crate team about this month’s theme, and a brief biography on Marie Curie.

First peek in the box! I already removed a TON of bubble wrap sheets that protected the goodies inside. I love the color palate in the July box!

Kelli Marie Design Raspberry Sangria Soy Wax Candle (2 oz) | $5.00

This tiny candle smells SO good. I wish I could program our blog to be scratch-n-sniff right now! K.M.D candles are all hand poured in small batches using soy wax and arrive packaged in cute metal tins wrapped in handmade kraft paper labels. The 2 ounce candle has a burn time of 6+ hours. I LOVE receiving candles in subscription boxes and am so pleased to see Covet Crate supporting this Etsy small business. 🙂

Little White Feather Shop Thin Lace Stretch Headband (Dark Sapphire) | $11.00

This headband looks super fancy and feels very soft. The lace band itself has a decent amount of elasticity and provides enough give so as to not squish my head when worn. Unfortunately, I have extremely straight, slick hair that apparently does not appreciate headbands. Except the thick plastic ones with the comb teeth underneath that everyone wore in the 90s… you know what I’m talking about. Regardless of not being able to wear this hair accessory, the thin lace stretch headband is very pretty, reasonably priced, and made by an awesome Etsy small business run by five sisters!

LWJ Designs “Boss Lady” Tumbler (16 oz) | $12.00

This is a great 16 oz. double-walled acrylic tumbler that is perfect for a morning smoothie or iced coffee. I can totally rock this in my home office so that my subscription boxes, six cats, dog bed, printer, and toddler all know who’s boss. In all reality, I’ll be using this as a water cup at night. LWJ Designs is run by a teacher turned stay-at-home mom named Beth. She designs and personalizes a variety of gifts to sell in her Etsy shop, including custom orders!

Rosanna, Inc. “Hello Beautiful” Jet Setter Tray | $22.00

Measuring 4.25″ x 6.25″, this porcelain tray is a perfect catch-all tray for jewelry, post-its, pens, pacifiers, you name it! I love the sophisticated presentation and gold accents on the box and tray. The company was founded by Rosanna Bowles in 1982. Rosetta, Inc. has since won many awards and has risen to become an innovative leader in the homewares industry. Rosanna, Inc. is a VERY cool company with an addictive website that is filled with (far too many) beautiful items.

Rifle Paper Co. Jardin de Paris Memoir Notebook | $15.00

Rifle Paper Co. is one of the leading boutique stationery companies trending today. The company was founded by a husband and wife team, Anna and Nathan Bond, and offers gorgeous original designs at fairly reasonable prices. The Jardin de Paris notebook has a full-color cover with neon accents and includes 130 lined pages with delicate pink accents inside. I LOVE this design and will feel quite fancy when I begin using it for all of my “important matters” (i.e. rambling daily to-do lists for work).

Rifle Paper Co. Pink Floral Weekly Desk Planner | $12.00

Measuring 6.75″ x 9.75″, this notepad is perfect for using as a mousepad at the office! There are 52 tear-off sheets that each provide enough space to jot down weekly goals, meetings, and tasks. I have never seen a weekly planner notepad like this before and am afraid I will be hooked once I start using it! Fortunately, Rifle Paper Co. currently has seven different styles of weekly desk planners available and each pad lasts an entire year!!

I really love my July 2016 Covet Crate box! The Rifle Paper Co. notebook and notepad were my absolute favorite items this month. I am honored to have been featured as Covet Crate’s Woman of the Month for July and could not have wished for a better group of small businesses to join in the box! The box’s value surpassed the total cost of the Girl Boss box, which is an impressive feat considering most of the items have been sourced from small businesses. I loved the “Independent” theme this month and cannot wait for the September theme to be released!
