Bonne Maman 2019 Advent Calendar

The Bonne Maman Advent Calendar sold out quickly once again for the third year in a row. It was gone from their website in early October and we were able to purchase one of the 7 (!) that our local World Market received the 3rd week of the month. The ladies at World Market told us that those 7 were gone within 2 days and no more of the Limited Edition Mini Spreads & Honey Gift Sets would be arriving! Everyone loves Bonne Maman jellies & preserves! This year’s box design features a beautiful, embossed silver snowflake on the front.

Bonne Maman products, produced in France, are Non-GMO Project Verified, have no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial coloring and no preservatives added. All of their preserves, jellies and fruit spreads are made with natural ingredients: fruit, sugar, cane sugar, concentrated lemon juice and fruit pectin.

This year’s Advent calendar price was $34.99, an increase of $5 from 2018. The Advent calendar contains 24 (1 oz.) jars of Limited Edition mini fruit spreads and honey. The cute Holiday illustrations on and around the little boxes inside are very similar to the art on last year’s box. Once again we hated to break into that cute artwork!

Since this is a fruit spread and honey Advent calendar, you know what is behind each door. You just don’t know what flavor it will be and that is the fun part! The glass jars are secure in their plastic holders and we thankfully found no displacement or breakage. That would be a horrible mess!

The cute little jars make a lovely and colorful display on their own! Doesn’t that make you hungry?

We decided to try the Orange Cinnamon Spread on our toast for this year’s Bonne Maman sampling. You can see by the the lovely deep color peppered with lots of fine/medium cut orange rind that this is a quality orange spread. The taste was definitely orange with a tangy peel and just a hint of cinnamon. One jar was sufficient to cover two slices of toast.

We were so happy to be able to review the Bonne Maman 2019 Advent Calendar this season and to have all these little jars of tasty fruit spreads and honey to sweeten our crackers, toasts, and (my) daily breakfast dose of oatmeal! You can still purchase this Bonne Maman Advent calendar on Amazon for a higher price on this secondary market. And many stores carry the individual jars of fruit spread, just not in the limited edition flavors.
