Aldi 2019 Hot Wheels Advent Calendar

The Aldi 2019 Hot Wheels Advent calendar was a really fun play set for us to review. This advent calendar was just right for our 6 year old boy, who was able to put almost all of the pieces together by himself. We opened the entire calendar in one sitting for the review, but Gabe was at the the perfect age to enjoy this day by day!

The packaging was Christmas-themed with a playful cartoon style that kids are familiar with from watching TV and movies. It basically screamed “Little Boy”!

The 24 doors were scattered across the playful scene, so part of the fun was finding the day we were looking for. Even I needed help on a few!

Each box was easier to open with the little tabs and the box hardly tore at all. Even better, the toys and accessories were easy to get out because the pockets also had built-in spaces for your fingers!

The back of the box had a perforated stand that you could assemble to let the box stand upright – it was a really nice touch!

In addition to all the cool vehicles, there were winter accessories to help the cars navigate the snow. Gabe was able to put most of them together by himself and loved switching all the accessories between the vehicles! I liked that they included accessories that you can’t normally purchase in the store.

No Hot Wheels play set would be complete without a ramp!

A few boxes needed adult help to get the day’s surprise out without breakage, but most were easy enough for a 6 year old.

The Aldi 2019 Hot Wheels Advent Calendar was priced at $16.99. The exact same calendar at Walmart was $24.89, so the cost at Aldi was a bargain. The winter/Christmas themed play set was really cute and filled with interesting pieces. The variety of different interchangeable accessories helped Gabe create lots of imaginary scenarios and story lines for the cars and supporting characters! It is a perfect calendar for a car-loving kid like Gabe and was very age-appropriate for our six-year old! This calendar gets an A+ from us!
