3 Must Have Boppy Products for New Moms!

I remember being completely overwhelmed by all the different baby products available when I was pregnant with Gabe (almost 6 years ago!) It took a lot of time and research for me to choose exactly which items I wanted to purchase and try out — and even more time to test out all the things I bought and discover what actually worked for me and baby Gabe.

As of February 2019, I am mommy to TWO beautiful boys! I gave birth to our second son, Jamie, via a scheduled c-section. I was blessed with fantastic doctors and nurses that made the early hospital arrival and 3-day stay enjoyable and filled with laughter. We named baby Jamie after one of my big brothers, who is a firefighter with the US Forestry Service and an incredible human being. Our hearts are bursting with love for this tiny human and Gabe absolutely adores his little bro!

Preparing for a new baby means finding brands that are trustworthy with items that make mom life easier. Even though it’s been several years since I’ve had to purchase baby things, I knew I needed these 3 Must Have Boppy Products for my “new mom” arsenal.

Classic Slipcovered Feeding and Infant Support Pillow | $39.99

This is Boppy’s iconic nursing pillow that has graced practically every baby shower’s wish list I’ve ever attended. And for good reason! The pillow is a perfect size to fit around most body shapes and provides plenty of space for the baby during feeding. It also works to support baby lounging (keeping the head and shoulders propped up), tummy time, and sitting!

When Gabe was a baby, I think I tried three or four different brands of nursing pillows. Some were way too small for my body, others didn’t have enough fluff inside and couldn’t support the baby’s body weight. There is a reason why ‘Boppy’ is synonymous with nursing pillows. Infinity Nursing Scarf | $24.99

I cannot recommend this scarf enough for breastfeeding mamas! There is nothing more stressful than being in a crowded public place and needing to feed your baby (right NOW!) I wish I were the kind of person that didn’t care what people think and could just whip it on out and nurse without covering… but I’m not. I received nursing covers in the past but rarely used them because they were so bulky to transport and too hot to really use in the summer months. Instead, I primarily covered with muslin blankets. It got the job done but it was a little tricky to keep everything hidden with a squirming baby trying to kick the blanket off all the time.

Boppy’s Infinity Nursing Scarf is UH-mazing. It’s lightweight, full coverage, and super soft. The best part is that it absolutely does not look like a nursing cover and can be worn just as a scarf with any outfit without looking out of place.

It’s so easy to go from scarf to nursing cover and even has a mesh see-through window so you can keep eye contact with your baby. Since it’s getting warmer outside, I don’t typically wear the scarf with my outfit, but instead pop it in my diaper bag. It’s so lightweight and compact that it barely takes up any room and is the PERFECT nursing cover for quick, impromptu public feedings. I use it every day and absolutely love it!

Boppy Must-Have #3

Boppy ComfyFit Baby Carrier | $69.99

I have to be honest, this baby carrier was not on my radar before this year. In 2013, I used two different carriers with Gabe and both had their pros and cons. But the main issue I have with almost all baby carriers is how difficult it is to get everything secured, fastened and adjusted all while baby is inside. I felt like I needed a second person to help adjust the straps and shoulder supports any time I wanted to wear my baby instead of hauling the car seat in a stroller.

Boppy has once again solved my problems with this amazing baby carrier!

When I first opened the Boppy ComfyFit Baby Carrier, I was surprised to see this compact, stretchy bag. It’s about the size of a football and contains the entire carrier neatly packed away. Initially, I thought there was no way I could ever fit the carrier back in the bag!  Fortunately, it came with instructions and I can easily fold up and store the carrier in the provided bag within just a couple of minutes.

Okay, I genuinely thought the carrier was going to be complicated to put on. It looks really similar to those baby wraps that seem to require some special magic to fit right. It’s probably just me, but those wraps are so complicated!

I am so excited that I can put on the Boppy ComfyFit Baby Carrier in just four simple steps:

1. Buckle waist belt above hips and tighten.
2. Insert arms into arm holes.
3. Criss-cross the long straps, bring across the front, under the baby’s bum, and tie to one side.
4. Stretch material over baby booty for extra support.

Look at those tiny baby feet sticking out the bottom! You can use the carrier facing in for smaller babies or facing out when the baby is older! The carrier is made from stretchy material inspired by yoga apparel and is ridiculously comfortable to wear. It’s designed to fit babies weighing 8-35 lbs. The ComfyFit carrier has also been acknowledged as “hip healthy” by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute when used as directed.

Jamie LOVES this carrier. I think he loves being cradled in the soft material close to my heart so he can hear my heartbeat. I highly recommend this carrier, especially for newborns and smaller babies. It’s so simple to use and is extremely comfortable to wear for long periods of time!
