Walmart has a beauty box subscription program that sends you a box of seasonal beauty essentials four times yearly – Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, for only the flat shipping cost of $5.00. These items are mainly (but not all) samples, are relevant to the season, and are chosen to fit your life stage.
The Homespun Chics paid for this subscription box. All opinions are 100% our own. This post contains affiliate links.
This is a review of the Winter 2016 Walmart Beauty Box Classic Edition. There is also a Trendsetter Edition box for people under 35.
First peek! Nothing broken or leaking. I love the pretty winter box! There is no product information card included probably because everyone gets something different in their box, depending on your age group and preferences in the form you fill out when you subscribe.
Aveeno – Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt Moisturizer in Vanilla & Oats .5 oz sample size ($.57)
This is a vanilla scented cream that absorbs quickly and is non-greasy. It is described as being able to moisturize your skin for up to 48 hours, though this dry winter weather would really put it to the test.
Curel – Hydratherapy Wet Skin Moisturizer 2 oz sample size ($1.65)
This moisturizer is water-activated to absorb immediately and deeply. It restores the skin’s moisture barrier and is non-greasy.
Pond’s – Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream 1.75 oz sample size ($2)
This is a daily use anti-wrinkle cream that is supposed to decrease the appearance of fine lines after 2 week’s use. It uses Alpha Hydroxy Acids and collagen to work its magic, is dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. Apparently Walmart believes that people over 35 have major issues with dry skin.
Cover Girl – LashBlast Volume Mascara in 805 Black .44 oz Full Size ($6.15)
This is a black mascara that gives you mega volume and dark intensity for an over-the-top look. The brush is two-sided to volumize and then intensify for an all day finish with one coat.
These are sample packets of smoothing shampoo, smoothing conditioner, and the conditioning mask for your hair. They are designed for dry, rebellious hair to control frizz. And they have sunflower seed extract to preserve color, so you can use them on your colored hair.
Walmart also included a few coupons.
The retail value of the samples in the Winter 2016 Walmart Beauty Box came to $10.37. It had fewer items than I was expecting from seeing the spoilers, but the value was twice more than the Fall box. The body wash was definitely missing. Heavy emphasis on moisturizers this time! Did you get a Winter 2016 Walmart Beauty Box? What was in yours?
