I grew up in Florida. Times were very different then. I spent my childhood mostly outside because all of us neighborhood kids were sent out in the morning, handed a sandwich and glass of Kool-aid out the door for lunch and finally called in for supper. Evenings were spent with our families sitting outside in lawn chairs. No one had air conditioning. Countless hours of my teen years were spent at the beach or doing other outside activities.
