The October 2016 Glossybox contained 5 beauty products this month, 4 were full-size and 1 was a sample. Of these, 3 were skin care products, 1 was for hair care and 1 was a cosmetic.

Glossybox always sends a fold-out product information card that gives photos, uses, prices and suggestions about each of the items they choose for that month’s box. They don’t curate to a monthly theme like some of the other subscription boxes. You don’t know what you will receive until the box arrives unless you see some spoilers on their website but the value is always there.

Unani – Il-Luminate Milk Cleanser 6.7 oz Full Size ($18)

This is a facial cleanser for all skin types. It is made with natural oils like aloe that purify and protect your skin leaving it feeling soft. I think the “milk” label refers to the creamy white color of the cleanser as there is no milk in the formula.

OGX Beauty – Fight Fallout Niacin3 & Caffeine Root Stimulator Spray 4 oz Full Size ($8)

From everything I have read, this is a spray to keep your scalp healthy and discourage hair breakage that results in loss by strengthening your hair strands. It is not a Rogaine-type product for hair loss. Does it work? I would have to use it for months to be able to say. The price is low enough for a good try.

Masque Bar by Look Beauty – Face Sheet Mask in Pomegranate 1 mask ($3.33)

This is a sheet mask developed in Korea to give you a home spa experience. The one I received has pomegranate extract, collagen, and Vitamin E to brighten, tighten pores, and moisturize. This is a 20 – 30 minute mask application. They come in packages of 3 masks so while this is not a sample, it is not a full size product either.

Emite Make Up – Lip & Cheek Tint .2 oz Full Size ($19)

This is a lip and cheek tint that lets you strengthen the natural tint of your cheeks and lips to give a more natural look. You apply it lightly over your lips or place 3 dots on your cheek and blend it out quickly with your fingertips. It appears to come in one color only but you can strengthen the application if you want more color. When I applied it on the back of my hand I did not blend it out, so the color would have been much lighter if I had done so.

Decleor Aromessence – Neroli Hydrating Oil Serum .16 oz sample size ($22)

This is a sample of a pure and natural essential oils elixir to comfort and treat skin exposed to daily stress. It penetrates upon application, soothing and relaxing the skin to give immediate comfort and radiance. Ingredients include hazel seed oil, bitter orange oil, sandalwood oil, juniper fruit oil, clary oil, neroli oil, and parsley oil. And it smells wonderful!

Glossybox is one of my favorite beauty subscription boxes! The retail value of the products in the October 2016 Glossybox came to roughly $70. I will definitely use the milk cleanser and the Neroli Oil Serum will be great when the dry winter weather is upon us. Plus the lip and cheek tint fits well with my everyday around-the-house minimal makeup routine – just a little color to liven things up a bit.
