Very awesome presentation! The beauty products were in the black & gold drawstring bag and it all makes me sad that I didn’t have (never have…) a gala New Year’s party to attend… The PLAY! PASS card is attached to the front of the PLAY! BOOK.

The product information was printed up on a large glossy fold-out sheet. I love that they give information about the brand, how to use the product and details about the formula.

Bobbi Brown – Smokey Eye Mascara travel size ($10.49)

This is a high impact black, kohl-pigmented mascara that builds volume on each lash. The formula is smudge and flake-free. The thicker brush base combs evenly through lashes, roots to ends, and it has a tapered tip so you don’t miss the tinier lashes.

Urban Decay – All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray .5 oz sample size ($7.50)

This is a spray to keep your makeup in place for up to 16 hours. It mists on weightlessly, doesn’t settle into fine lines or melt your makeup, and is perfect for all skin types.

Drybar – Detox Dry Shampoo .8 oz travel size ($13.60)

This is lightweight, microfine rice powder in a spray to absorb oils, add body, and leave your hair feeling clean. It does have a scent, something to keep in mind if you are sensitive.

Sephora – Cream Lip Stain in Always Red .04 oz sample size ($4.14)

This is a lightweight liquid lipstick in a bold, crimson red that goes on smooth and dries to a matte finish. It’s made with avocado oil and vitamin E oil to hydrate your lips.

Make Up For Ever – Step 1 Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer .16 oz sample size ($5.10)

This is a primer to help your makeup last longer. It is a smoothing primer best for large pores and fine lines. I really see a difference when I use a primer under my foundation and it takes almost no extra time.

Elizabeth and James – Nirvana Bourbon Eau De Parfum Spray .07 oz sample size ($4.55)

This is a fragrance created by Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen, “an intoxicating blend of vanilla bourbon and spice wood with a delicate floral note.” It is a heavy, spicy scent in which you definitely can smell the vanilla and the bourbon but with a woodsy background. It is way too strong for me and definitely an evening scent.

The retail value of the beauty samples in the December 2016 Play! by Sephora box came to roughly $45.38. There were some very useful and high quality cosmetic items, my very favorites being the primer and the makeup setting spray and I know my daughter will love the mascara. This was my first month to review this sub box and I like it already!
