Soo… I found myself perusing the Birchbox website late one night, looking at all of the special edition boxes, and quickly found this Limited Edition Strong Start box. Of course I freaked out and bought it. But not before using a coupon! YES!!!

I couldn’t wait to get into the box and start using everything!! Unlike monthly subscriptions, Limited Edition boxes are described in full detail on the website so I knew exactly what I was going to get before ordering.

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk (1 oz) – Value:  $8.32

I gave the Birchbox subscription a try for about three months and found that no matter what my beauty preference, I always ended up with dry shampoo in my box. I guess persistence is key, because I have actually grown to love the stuff, especially the Klorane brand. Though it sprays on white like other dry shampoos, a little shake of the hair and the white disappears. (This is crucial for me since I have black hair.)

Supergoop! Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 (1 oz) – Value:  $8.24

I really do not like using sunscreen because it feels so greasy, especially on my face. This is a three-in-one mist that sets make-up, controls oil and provides UV-protection. Since it’s meant to be applied to the face, I’m willing to give this a shot once it gets warmer outside and I start running around the lake again. For now — it’ll sit nice and pretty in that drawer… over there.

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream in Pomegranate (50 mL) – Value:  $6.67

This is a non-foaming shave cream that has a very pretty scent. I am currently using another non-foaming shave cream and I really like it. The cream feels like lotion and is very moisturizing. It’s the perfect travel size, so I’ll be stashing this for our next beach trip!

Acure Unscented Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes (30 ct) – Value:  $7.49

These towelettes are divine! They remove dirt, grease, and make-up easily. The best part is that they are pretty much free of anything bad and are made in the USA. I laughed out loud at the cute description on the back of the package –

ARROW BOOST Color Enhancing Lip Balm (0.14 oz) – Value:  $14.00

Yay! I love lip balm almost as much as I love coffee. For different reasons, of course, but still. The love is real. Birchbox recently launched ARROW, a new in-house product line that is vegan, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. This lip balm works to adjust to your natural pH and gives the perfect color enhancement and shine for your lips.

I have not had much luck or patience with finding the perfect shade of lipstick. I have had great luck with finding awesome lip balms though, and I am really impressed with this one. It goes on smooth and adds the perfect touch of color. I may have to pick up another tube once I’m finished with this one, although the price is a bit steep for my wallet currently.

Eyeko Sport Waterproof Eyeliner (Pitch Black) – Value:  $20.00

Waterproof eyeliner is really awesome to use on a rainy day, but really horrible to try and remove in the shower. I cannot imagine putting makeup on before going running, but then again, I do run over my lunch break when the weather picks up, so perhaps I can remember to wear this. Either way, this is a pretty great eyeliner that goes on smooth and has great color. This is a twist-up eyeliner with a built-in tip sharpener! Cool!

Bombas Women’s Ankle Socks (Grey / Blue) – Value:  $11.00

These are great socks! They are extremely comfortable and I really love the honeycomb support stitching and blister tabs. As an added bonus, for every pair of socks purchased, Bombas donates a pair to someone in need!

JLab Core Custom Fit Earbuds (Pink / Black) – Value:  $19.99

I have taken mom’s earbuds from her FabFitFun Winter box and am currently obsessed with them. These JLab earbuds will be on standby for when Little G decides to flush my current pair or if I accidentally break them. I’ve never used earbuds with squishy gel tips, but I bet they’d stay in place pretty darn good while running…. hmm, perhaps this Strong Start box is best used for exercise motivation! I’m getting some strong hints to start running again…

bkr Glass Bottle 16 oz. (Tiptoe Light Pink) – Value:  $35.00

This is the main reason why I couldn’t help but purchase the Strong Start box. I have considered buying this bottle several times but could never quite justify the cost. I was thrilled to see it in this box!

This bottle is top-rack dishwasher safe, has a cute removable silicone sleeve, and an awesome loop lid that makes the bottle easy to carry. The mouth is small like a plastic water bottle, which makes it easier to use without spilling water all over my face. (Yeah, I’m talkin’ bout you, Nalgene.)

My Thoughts

Birchbox Limited Edition Strong Start Box Total Value:  $130.71

I think this is probably one of my favorite impulse buys ever. I bought the Strong Start box for $36 using the 20% coupon code TAKEOFF20 and received a total value of over $130! I’m more than satisfied with the variety and usability of the included items and felt the curation stuck very close to the theme!
