Glossybox is an online monthly beauty subscription box that sends you 5 or more travel size (and sometimes full size) beauty products each month from well known luxury brands and up-and-coming niche brands. You get to try out the best brands and new makeup products for a fraction of the full size cost. They also send the best hair products and skin care products for women.
You can subscribe to Glossybox for $21 each month with free shipping within the USA and receive five great beauty products to enjoy. They also have a 6 month plan (same price as the monthly plan) and a 12 month plan. The 12 month plan brings the cost down to $18.50 per month.
The Homespun Chics paid for this subscription box. All opinions are 100% our own. This post contains affiliate links.
First peek into the April 2017 Glossybox! It contained 2 skin care products, 2 hair care products, 3 cosmetics, and one scent.
Glossybox has changed from a fold-out product information card to a large sheet, but it still includes pictures, suggestions for use, and pricing. They don’t curate to a titled monthly theme like some of the other subscription boxes. You don’t know what you will receive until the box arrives unless you see some spoilers on their website but the value is always there.
Vasanti Cosmetics – Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator sample size .07 oz ($6)
This is a facial treatment scrub that cleanses with a mild cleansing gel, Aloe vera, coconut, and panthenol, exfoliates with Dermatologist-grade Microderm Crystals, and brightens your face by breaking down dead skin cells with papaya enzymes. It is 100% Paraben-free and 100% vegan.
Colourpop Cosmetics – 2 Ultra Matte Lipsticks Full Size .11 oz ($12)
Speed Dial is a rich peach and Wednesday is a vibrant hot pink. These are lightweight, long-wearing lipsticks that glide on and have an bold, intense pigment.
Doucce – Maxlash Volumizer Mascara full size .5 oz ($22)
This is a highly pigmented carbon black mascara to define your lashes and leave them full and vibrant. The brush has extra large fibers that help create volume and length in just one sweep.
Beauty Shampoo and Conditioner sample size 3.38 oz ?($2)
These were sent as “mystery bonus products” with an unknown brand. They have a pleasant scent and the shampoo lathers up well. Proctor & Gamble is the maker.
The April box had 4 additional items on their list and each box received 2 of these, at random apparently.
Jafra Cosmetics, International – Paris Et Moi Eau De Parfum sample size .23 oz ($7)
I am not one to wear scents very often, so I always cringe a little when a beauty box includes one and that one almost always goes into the trash. This perfume is a pleasant, light scent with floral hints that I could wear just going out and about. I am surprisingly pleased.
Aromafloria – For Feet’s Sale Intense Repair Spa Foot Butter sample size 1 oz ($4)
This is the better of the 2 random, additional items that was in my box. I can always use foot butter and this one is creamy and smells minty. It has shea butter, vitamin E, tea tree, and mint.
The retail value of the items curated for the April 2017 Glossybox came to roughly $53, an excellent value for the price of the subscription box. Three products were full size and five were samples. All of the skin care products will work out well for me and I know Sarah will love the mascara. Neither of us will use those bright, bright lipsticks as we are neither teenagers nor club-goers but just a few misses out of a beauty box is not too bad.
